A: A water barrier is a temporary structure used to block or redirect traffic. These barriers are hollow and can be filled with water or sand. When empty, they are lightweight, but they become heavy and stable when filled. Made from polyethylene plastic, SafeGuard 36 water barriers are resistant to UV rays, sunlight, harsh weather conditions and resists cracking and denting from impacts.

A: The weight of a water-filled barrier varies based on its size and capacity.
For example, our SafeGuard 36 Water Barrier weighs 95 lbs when empty and around 600 lbs when filled.
3. How do I fill up a Safeguard Water Barrier?
A: Transport the barriers empty to your desired location and arrange them in lines or curves as needed. Once in place, fill the barriers from the top with sand or water using a hose or water cart. To remove them, simply empty the contents through the drain hole at the bottom.
4. How long does a water barrier last?
A: Safeguard Water Barriers are made from polyethylene plastic, which is highly resistant to wear. With proper maintenance and depending on environmental conditions, these barriers typically last over ten years.
